Food?  It’s foodie heaven!

From Italian, Thai and Turkish delights to the best burritos this side of the Atlantic – there’s global guzzling to be had in this area.

Closer to home you’ll find everything from proper fish & chips and traditional pub grub to exclusively vegan and vegetarian treasures.

Plenty of restaurants, pubs and a gazillion independent cafes, delis and sandwich shops here in town.

Visit on market day and you’d better come hungry, because there are stalls galore selling everything from local burgers to fancy crepes. Look out for exciting pop-ups too, like Tibetan nosh at the legendary Trades Club, spicy Indian street food and marvelously moreish homemade ice cream sold from a pushbike.

If it’s drinking you want, don’t worry – The beer and bar scene has never been, erm, healthier.

It’s not just cosy old pubs with roaring fires and beer gardens for the brave.  There are new and quirky venues here too, including micropubs, wine bars and a cocktail joint, plus the world’s coolest working men’s club hidden away in the woods. It all goes to make the place completely individual & that’s what we like!
