A good café can be the heart of a community, and the Blue Teapot ticks all the right boxes. Lisa’s friendly little place in Mytholmroyd has everything you need to make you feel welcome, connected and very well fed indeed.
This modern and relaxing vegetarian café has plenty of great food to choose from, including vegan and gluten-free options, all freshly prepared and served with a smile. If you’ve got a special dietary requirement, no bother, they’ll cater for you if they can. There’s plenty of cake too, of course – perfect if you’re hitting the hills or need a sweet treat. No need to feel guilty either, because the food is made using locally sourced and Fairtrade ingredients, so everything comes with a side order of feelgood factor. Just want a drink? That’s fine – choose from artisan coffee and loose-leaf tea, or sit back and chill with a local ale or a glass of decent wine.
There’s more to any good café than just its food and refreshments through, and this one’s no exception. The Blue Teapot is a baby-friendly cafe where you’ll feel comfortable breastfeeding, and don’t hesitate to ask if you’d like them to heat up your little one’s food. Wi-fi is free if you need it, and there’s a good selection of novels, kids’ books, magazines and newspapers – a wonderful way of whiling away a lazy hour or two. Bring your four-legged friends too if you like, because there’s a special second room set aside.
Opening hours are 9am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, 9am – 7pm Fridays, 10am – 4pm Saturdays and from November 2021 Sunday hours will be 10am – 2.30pm. Watch out for evening events all year round, with details and updates on social media.
