Event Details

At the first ever annual Tomorrow’s Business event this September explore innovations in export, learn how to access new markets, hear about funding opportunities and much more.

Whether you’re at our conference in the magnificent Piece Hall, or attending one of the afternoon workshops in the beautiful Square Chapel, Central Library, or fantastic University Business Centre this is an event not to be missed as you look to the future of your business.

Whilst there will be a specific focus on exporting as a potential means of growing your business on the day, there will be lots of opportunities for businesses who do not export but may have other business related needs to access and connect with a whole range of business support agencies available to the businesses in Calderdale from across the whole of the region.

James Mellor – Managing Director of Rainbow Trout Films – is going to talk to us about how the digital sector can work internationally; exporting expertise and digital products to such businesses as Yahoo, Primark and Sky.

Fiona Thurlbeck – Calderdale Council’s Service Lead for Business and Skills – will be talking about how getting to grips with your business’ skills, infrastructure, and supply chains can help you become more resiliant, even in the face of an uncertain business climate post-Brexit.

Babyballet – This internationally recognised business started in Calderdale and a representative will be taking us through their franchising journey and how niche products can still be successful on the international stage.

All speakers will also be available for a Q&A session, so if you’ve got burning questions on how to prepare your business for exporting and working internationally, now’s the time to get your answers.

In the age of social media and digital technology, in-person networking looks like a thing of the past. But nothing beats person-to-person interaction and you’ll have plenty of chance to rub shoulders with other local businesses throughout the day.

There are more speakers to be confirmed, and a range of workshops throughout the afternoon, details of which will soon be revealed.

We expect this event to be popular, and places are limited for the morning conference so book early to secure your place!
