New Year Message from HRBF
Looking ahead and keeping our eyes on the horizon – together.
The continual disruption brought by the pandemic, made 2021 yet another very challenging year for our businesses, despite the ongoing success of the Covid vaccine helping to bring us a wee glimpse of some sort of normality.
Heading towards Christmas we really did feel as if there was still a sense of the unknown … would locals support our businesses, would visitors return, would businesses be short staffed due to rising cases of Omicron and isolation rules and would this lead to temporary closures, or worse permanent ones? Lots of questions and not many answers but I think we all got through it relatively unscathed, although rather exhausted, so well done all; you’ve been bloody brilliant!
The Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge are collating all the feedback received from the Light Up The Valley events we ran with them from the 3rd-12th December and we will publish the results in due course. What fantastic events these were for our HX7 community, and I do hope that you managed to get to one nearby.
It’s now a new year and time to look ahead and keep our eyes on the horizon looking for fabulous new opportunities which will present themselves. I have stepped down as Chair of HRBF after 3 years although I will still be playing an active part as I do believe there is still so much we can be involved with and
achieve for HX7. Our collaboration with the Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge proved that we are better together, with some serious elbow grease!
There is a committee reshuffle, and we are looking for new members to join us. I am a firm believer that to see change you must be part of that change, so if you think that you have determination and focus that you feel can help to shape HRBF in 2022 and beyond please do get in touch with us at info@hebdenbridge.org.
Warm wishes to you all and here’s hoping we do have a kinder 2022.
