The Vintage Weekend is an annual rally for vintage, veteran and classic vehicles held in the West Yorkshire Town of Hebden Bridge, in the heart of the South Pennines, with different classes on each day. Over the weekend there is huge display of over 600 cars, motorcycles, military and commercial vehicles. Described by Classic Car Weekly as ‘One of Britain’s best car shows’.
The Vintage Weekend is now in its 36th year, with the first rally held in 1983. It is interesting to note that brand new cars on display in dealer’s showrooms that year are now eligible to attend the Saturday Rally. Almost all the famous British marques are represented at the rally, along with famous names from across the world.
Classic Car Film Show at Hebden Bridge Cinema
We had two clear winners for the Rotary Club and Hebden Bridge Picture House films this summer.
Films chosen as follows:
1st place: Saturday 4th August at 5pm (doors open 4.15pm, programme starts at 4.30pm, film starts at 5pm): THE ITALIAN JOB (1969) (PG) – believe running time is 99 minutes
2nd place: Sunday 22nd July at 8pm (doors open at 7.15pm, programme starts at 7.30pm, film starts at 8pm): THE BLUES BROTHERS (1980) (15) – believe the running time is 132 minutes hence starting 15 minutes earlier than usual.
Entry will be normal prices for the cinema, with £1 off for The Italian Job for those who have been at the Vintage Weekend that day.
