In a rush? Then save yourself a couple of minutes and just head to the photos on Spring Wood’s website: job done. If you’d rather read some blurb first though, here goes…
Photographer Steve and personal trainer Heather met on a Greenpeace ship, and the couple’s two gorgeous holiday apartments certainly make the most of their stunning natural environment. In fact, they must occupy one of the best positions around. Park outside, dump your car keys, and enjoy the fact that you can walk wherever you want to get to. Hebden is a lovely 15 minutes’ stroll away, or breathtaking Hardcastle Crags roughly the same in the opposite direction. There’s wonderful cycling, hiking and dog walking right from the studios, plus local info and lots of routes helpfully provided.
With one apartment built on top of the other in the classic Hebden Bridge way, each double-bedroomed studio is spotlessly clean and stylishly furnished. You’ll find everything you could possibly need in each room, from well-equipped kitchens to hot water bottles for wintry weekends. Both apartments enjoy perfectly picturesque views, and while studio 1 has a romantic Juliette balcony and is great for those with limited mobility, Studio 2 has a lovely decked area for sitting outside. There’s secure bike storage too, of course, and you can even hear the tinkling river from either apartment’s bedroom.
Whether it’s thrills in the hills or culture down in town you’re after, this really is an idyllic getaway. It’s romantic here too, and various brides have stayed before getting married in Hardcastle Crags. Fancy tying the knot while you’re at Heather and Steve’s? Be their guest!
