Organise a reunion. Arrange a writers’ weekend. Even get married if you have to.  Just do whatever it takes to warrant a stay at this very special place.

A former mill owner’s house in a stunning conservation area, this spacious, unspoilt property offers the perfect self-catering accommodation for groups. Two minutes’ walk from the station, five from the town centre, and with its own on-site parking, the location couldn’t be better.  The lovely landscaped garden even backs onto the river and is bursting with perennials and great for outdoor eating.  Out at the front, canal boats slip by silently and are visible from the house.

Step inside and you’ll find comfortable accommodation for up to eleven people, with two bathrooms, two living rooms, and a gorgeous kitchen complete with an Aga

Original features are everywhere, and there’s even a wood burner for cosy winter stays (handy, because Mayroyd is open every day of the year).

Despite the convenient location, this is an idyllic and secluded place ideal for intimate gatherings or artistic inspiration. In fact, you’ll spot co-owner Juliet’s handmade ceramics and paintings dotted throughout the house.

Workshops and retreats are obvious possibilities, while the peaceful setting makes it perfect for yoga or meditation.  If you’re more sporty than spiritual, there’s secure bike storage and you’re right by the famous Route 66 cycle way, not to mention dozens of walking and off-road biking trails.
