We love a good family business here in Hebden, and this one is a proper husband and wife (or is that wife and husband?) team. Owners Sam and Mathew are both from Mytholmroyd, and their Hebden Bridge showroom is just a few minutes’ walk from the town’s busy square. Coming by car? No problem – there’s plenty of free parking right outside their premises.
The business supplies and installs more types of flooring than we ever knew existed, from carpets, rugs and vinyl through to LVT, laminate and engineered wood flooring. Popular brands they stock include Victoria Carpets, Cavalier and Brintons, while customers looking for something a bit more designer have options like Alternative Flooring. The team at Hebden work with both domestic and commercial customers, and they provide a free measuring service as well as no-obligation quotes. They take on jobs of any size and budget too, and can even supply customised door mats if that’s what you need.
While Sam runs the showroom and helps advise customers, Mathew does the measuring and fitting along with his colleague Jacob, who’s been part of the team for seven years. Mathew and Jacob have 38 years’ experience between them, and both are qualified in floorcoverings to NVQ Level 2, with Matthew also having completed the Karndean advanced fitting course. Basically, what these two don’t know about flooring isn’t worth knowing. No wonder they get work in Norway, Sweden and Denmark as well as all over the Calder Valley.
Great customer service is definitely one of the keys to this local firms success. Oh, and their super-cute secret weapon behind the counter, Poppy the boxer pup.
