Hebden Bridge Women’s Institute is a thriving women only space in Hebden Bridge. We meet on the third Monday of the month at 7.30pm in The Waterfront Hall in Hebden Bridge’s Town Hall. We are run by a democratic committee and are affiliated to the national Women’s Institute.
We are varied in age (minimum 18 yrs to …….) and interest but united as a friendly fun loving group of women who like making new friends and having a good time.
Our meetings consist of an activiity or a visiting speaker followed by tea, cake, cheese and fruit. Our speakers range on all different topics such as cheese making, the holocaust, the history of buttons, photography etc. Our activites too are wide ranging such as singing, dancing, keep fit or craft activities.
As well as our monthly meetings we have additional informal activities such as a gardening group, a walking group and and a theatre group.
You may have seen us taking part in community activities for example, litter picking or tree planting. We also support an annual local charity which benifits women.
We hold a bi annual Rag (haberdashery) Market in The Town Hall and North Light Studios which attracts visitors to the town and brings like minded women together as well as raising money for our chosen charity.
We welcome visitors to our meeting at a cost of £5. Why not come along and join us!
