There’s nowhere like our wonderful Town Hall, and that’s really saying something in a town full of great venues. Anyway, this is a true community hub that’s here for the people – every single one of you, wherever you’re from.
Owned and run by an independent charity, Hebden Bridge Community Association, and staffed partly by volunteers, the Town Hall is as inclusive and accessible as it gets. It hosts everyone from budding young artists and local support groups through to world-class performers, and even the odd politician (some not-so-odd ones too).
Tying the knot? Do it here. Need a festival venue? No problemo. Organising a kids’ party? You must be mad, but the Town Hall team will sort it.
There’s free Wi-Fi throughout the building and free art on show in the ground floor gallery space. Nearly 70 small companies and organisations are run from here too, either based in modern offices or hot-desking in the by-the-month business lounge. Don’t forget the Huddle: a room to rent for just £4+VAT/30 minutes, perfect for one-to-one meetings, private calls or just a spot of quiet time.
Did we mention the café? A favourite with families, this cheerful licensed venue serves delicious treats and light meals, including vegan and special diet options. When the sun’s out (don’t laugh), grab your grub and head to the gorgeous riverside balcony. Best of all, the money you spend goes back into the Town Hall pot, so when it comes to added feel-good factor, you really can have your cake and eat it!
