Hebden Bridge Cottage

Small but perfectly formed springs to mind at this cosy little apartment in the centre of town.  Small, because at just 35 square metres it’s as cute and compact as it gets.  Perfectly formed, because it’s been cleverly designed to have everything you need for a cosy, comfy stay just a stone’s throw from the action.

This traditional Victorian ‘under-dwelling’ couldn’t be more Hebden, tucked into the hillside with ‘over-dwellings’ stacked on top. Inside is light and airy, with a comfortable double bed which splits into two, plus a handy sofa bed for an extra guest.  Just let Jan know beforehand if you prefer two singles or plan to use the sofa bed.

This pad might be compact and bijou, but it still magically manages to accommodate a fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher and washing machine.  There’s underfloor heating and a power shower, as well as a flame-effect burner for winter.  We’ll be amazed if you find time for it, but there’s a TV here too, plus decent wi-fi: great for working out where to eat, drink, shop, hike, cycle, catch a movie, see some art, catch a gig or do some yoga. Actually, there’s no need to check online – it’s pretty much all right on your doorstep!  Just look for a local and ask for tips and directions.

On a practical note, there’s free on-street parking and you’ll get a visitor permit too.  Coming by train?  Don’t worry; it’s just a five-minute walk from the station.  You can even check yourself in thanks to a lockbox on the outside of the apartment.  So, simple to use, sweet to stay at and handily surrounded by all the many delights of Hebden Bridge.  Small is indeed beautiful here.
