With everything there is to do in and around Hebden Bridge, we reckon you’re going to want to stay. If that’s the case, stick Halstead Green Farm on your to-sleep-at list. Its lovely uplands location in the Colden Valley is a gorgeous hour’s hike from town, but that’s ok – it gives you a good excuse to stay in if you’re feeling lazy.
This charming, characterful detached house has everything you could possibly need, from its five bedrooms and three sitting rooms through to a lovely farmhouse kitchen and dining room. Towels are normally provided and beds already made up, and owner Stephen can even provide fold-out singles if your group is struggling to fit.
There’s Wi-Fi too of course, but you probably won’t be needing it with the Pennine Way and so many footpaths, bike trails and historic locations right on your doorstep. The perfect base for trips to Hebden, Haworth and other local hotspots, you’ve also got the New Delight pub and May’s legendary village shop nearby. Don’t be tempted to spend all your time galavanting though. There’s a large garden here with a BBQ area and outdoor seating, plus wonderful views of the hills all around. Two wood-burning stoves are perfect for cosy evenings in, too.
Only need a couple of nights? You’ll regret that, but chat to Stephen and he’ll help in any way he can. Ask about those group bookings and family get-togethers too – all those beds and ample parking make this the perfect venue.
