Good old cheese – we love the stuff – so it’s hardly surprising we’re massive fans of the Grilled Cheese Booth in the heart of Hebden.  Just in case you haven’t already succumbed, lured in by the irresistible aromas, here’s the lowdown from a local. 

Chris and Nicola started the business in 2020 after losing their events and theatre jobs because of the pandemic.  Combining their love of food and passion for cooking was an obvious way to go, so they created this friendly little business just off Crown Street, and it’s fast become a Hebden favourite. 

Food-wise, the clue’s in the title.  This place serves a mouth-watering array of grilled cheese sandwiches, with the menu changing daily and quality produce chosen from a bunch of wonderful local suppliers. The Booth’s signature mix of cheddar and mozzarella adorns the sandwiches, with optional embellishments like pickles, salt beef, artisan salami and caramelised red onion marmalade.

Sandwiches are made to order of course, with each masterpiece grilled to perfection on a hot plate, giving a wonderfully crisp and golden exterior packed with warm, gooey loveliness. There’s a special ‘house blend’ of delicious fresh coffee here too, and even the sourdough bread is top-notch!  If by some miracle you’re still not full after your sandwich, there are deserts like fresh donuts from Blue Sky Baker.  Last but not least, the Grilled Cheese Booth has a licence too, so you can wash your food down with something really special like a tasty Napton Cider.

You can eat on the move, or on the spot at one of the outside tables provided. For now, this place is serving 10-4pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and 10-8pm Fridays and Saturdays, but check the Booth’s social media for updates on opening times and menus, not to mention some champion pics of cheesy treats!
