Manchester based Ikebana tutor Junko has been teaching seasonal workshops in Hebden Bridge since last June – this is the 4th event in the series.
In this spring workshop, Junko will introduce us to the spirit of Ikebana with an East & West-twist, using seasonal Spring blossoms and foliage.
IKEBANA was born at a small Zen Temple in Kyoto more than 300 years ago as a representative art form of the nature that grew from offering seasonal flowers to Buddha.
IKEBANA (生花) means “Give the flower another life or second life” … in another word for – Let flower dance and sing for you, gracefully and freely in a air…
This 4 hour workshop will begin with Junko’s introductry talk of Ikebana, followed by a live demonstration, after which, the class will then be invited to create your own ikebana work under the guidance of Junko.
The cost of the workshop will be *£45. This includes the cost of the seasonal flowers, which you will take home with you after the session. A complimentary hot meal and hot drink will be provided by the Tibetan Kitchen.
*Pay £15 for your non-refundable deposit here on Eventbrite and pay the remainder in cash on the day.
Please bring a small hand or kitchen towel with you.
This workshop is strictly limited to 10 places. To book please follow the link https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/spring-ikebana-japanese-flower-arranging-class-45-inc-hot-meal-tickets-93658905307
