Post offices…we love them! Here in Hebden Bridge we’ve got one of the UK’s best and most beautiful, full of original features and unique character (plus a few great local characters behind the counter too). There’s a lot more to this handy little gem than just its fabulous heritage and super-friendly staff though: it’s also a key part of our community and an essential local service we’d all be lost without.
Satnam and his team offer so many services it’s almost quicker to list the things you can’t get done here: for the sake of convention though, here’s the stuff you can. For starters, all aspects of postage and packaging, including eco-friendly options. Then there’s banking too, with a real human to give you your cash. Want tickets for local events, holiday insurance and money, or a passport ‘check and send’ service? Step inside.
You can get your car tax, photo ID and an international driving licence here too, or some printing and copying. Then there’s Post Office Homephone and broadband services, school bus passes, and a wide range of stationery, cards, calendars, gifts, and gift-wrap to choose from. The Post Office is even a handy Amazon pickup point, good for collections and returns, plus it offers business customers a brilliant Drop and Go service to help them dodge the queues.
One last thing worth knowing: the staff here can only generate revenue from transactions we make, which means these are the services that keep our post office in business. So, ‘use it or loose it’ as the saying goes. We think this place is definitely worth saving.
